Fresh yogurt raita to enjoy with biryani and as a condiment for other dishes.
Makes 10-12 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole plain or Greek yogurt
- 2 Tbs. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt (to taste)
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 small green chili, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
Directions:
- In a medium bowl, whisk yogurt, water, and salt, adding more or less water depending on desired consistency.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine.
- Serve with biryani or as a condiment for other dishes.
Notes:
- If using Greek yogurt, increase water by 1 Tbs.
- For restaurant style raita, blend everything except the onions and stir them in afterwards along with 1/4 cup chopped cucumber.
